Our company has a very simple guideline. Many companies clain to have this same way of doing business, but do they really follow it? The idea is this, bring back the personal touch to retail. I understand when businesses get very large, this is hard to do, but far from impossible.
If we really take a step back and SEE what is going on in the retail market these days, it can be upsetting. Once upon a time giant box stores ruled the industry, put thousands of local "Mom & Pop" shops out of business. Fast forward to present day, this still exists, only now you must add the massive retail websites who are scooping up 85% of consumers. Is this fair? Who cares, this is business.
As Americans, we want what we want, and we want it now. This is the foundation of many of these massive businesses. Not only have the cheapest prices, ship it for free, and if the customer wants to pay a monthly fee, have your products the very next day. Technology is truly amazing isn't it?
At what cost do we pay for shopping like this? Some believe no cost at all. We disagree. Building relationships between business and customer is what our great nation was founded on. This is gone. I personally know the names of every customer who has shopped on our website, what their interests are, and an idea of their budget. Is that time consuming? Absolutely. We do not gather a list of email addresses from our customers, then flood their inbox with every sale and new product we recieve. We do however invite them to see the new products or sales offering for the things we KNOW they are interested in, and can afford. It is by no means an exact science, but we care enough to try, and as long as I am in charge of this business, no matter how large we may get, that will always be a part of our business practices.
When purchasing products from these massive retailers, in person, or online, what are you getting? Big picture. The best price? I will argue that one. Free shipping? Thousands of small businesses offer that as well. Next day delivery? O.K. that is a bit rare, however a fee is paid for that, and unless you buy things every other day, how much value does this really hold? And honostly people, do you REALLY need that new garden gnome delivered to you in 12 hours? Who knows, maybe you do.
In a nutshell, truthfully you are shopping from random different sellers located on one website, or a massive corporation. The moment your package shipped out, or you leave the store, you were forgotten about. They have no interest in what is important to you or your satisfaction, and most of the time, could care less if you ever bought from them again. We are cattle folks with new heads coming in by thousands every day.
This post is not to bash big business. I wish them well, and hope they continue to make their millions of dollars. This post is to inform our readers and/or customers of two things. First, there are alternatives to being just part of the flock. Us as individuals work hard for our money and deserve to spend it where we are noticed, valued and have that company understand OUR wants and needs. You do not have to sacrafice a good deal or free shipping to gain this sort of customer service.
Our second point, introduce you to the REAL Rotella Resale. We are not in this business for huge profit margins. Truth be told, just about every dime made goes back into finding new products for our customers and advertising. We do this to BE that alternative mensioned in the last paragraph. No illusions here my friends, we are not trying to compete with these giants, just be there for the people who are tired of being a robot.
