In this "Union of the Damned" story arc, the son of Satan seeks to take control of Hell and sends an emissary to Earth with a wedding invitation for Vampirella. Drawn together by fate, Vampirella and Sara Pezzini are pulled into Hell to prevent this unholy union.
During the conflict, the two heroes find themselves vastly outnumbered; in a unique moment, a portion of the Witchblade actually grafts itself onto Vampirella's arm so both women can be "armed" to fight off demonic hordes. The story is also notable for briefly introducing Vampirella's younger sister.
