In the 1988 movie Die Hard, the Nakatomi Plaza office building becomes the site of a high-stakes hostage situation when a group of heavily armed thieves, led by Hans Gruber, takes everyone inside hostage during the company’s Christmas party. John McClane was visiting his wife, and he realized that he was the only man that could take down the thieves one at a time.
